Sin Heng Noodle

I was at Sin Kee Heong Coffeeshop located at Commonwealth Crescent to check out this stall called Sin Heng Noodle. I noticed that they had a newspaper article pasted on the front which features their Special Prawn Noodle. I ordered a bowl of Special Prawn Kway Teow Dry with Extra Chilli for S$3.00. The Prawn Noodle is quite tasty, the chilli sauce reminds me the taste of traditional prawn noodle. The spring onions is very fragrant and adds more flavour to the dish. The soup is sweet with the goodness of the prawns. Overall, I find that the Prawn Noodle is above average and you can give it a try if you are not too fussy about prawn noodles.

Joo Chiat Prawn Mee

It has been quite a while since I check out a new food stall to recommend. Today, I was at Crane Road to check out this stall called Joo Chiat Prawn Mee. I ordered a bowl of Pork Rib Kway Teow dry with chilli and Prawn Bee Hoon dry with chilli for S$5.00 each. The Kway Teow was silky and smooth, it goes very well with the chilli and the dish was garnished with lots of fried spring onions, making it very fragrant. The soup was very tasty, it is filled with the goodness from the prawn and pork ribs. However, I find that if the pork ribs are more tender, it would have been perfect. The Bee Hoon also goes well with the chilli and the fried spring onions is an important ingredient to the dish. It's a pity that the prawns are not very fresh and it sticks to the shell. Overall, I find that the soup is superb, so are the chilli and spring onions. You can give it a try if you are around the area.

Unfortunately, there was no more kway teow so I ordered Pork Rib Bee Hoon Dry instead for myself and Prawn Bee Hoon Dry for my wife. The pork rib was tender and the layer of fat dissolves when you put in your mouth. The fried spring onion was fragrant and the chilli was absolutely a great combination with Kway Teow. The soup has a rich prawny taste.
