Chia Kee Fishball Kway Teow Noodle

I have made several wasted trips to Whampoa Drive Makan Place in my attempt to try the fishball noodles from this stall called Chia Kee Fishball Kway Teow Noodle. Most of the times, the stall was not opened when I was there. I decided to try my luck again today and am delighted to see the stall open. I ordered a bowl of Dry Fishball Noodle for S$3.00. The amount of vinegar and chilli sauce that was added into the noodle was just right, making it very delicious. There were ingredients like minced pork, sliced pork, fishballs, fishcake and fish dumpling. The dish was garnished with fried spring onions. The texture of the fishball is fresh and bouncy. Despite the several wasted trips made, I must say that it's still worthwhile.

Soon Heng Fish Ball Noodle

Today I decided to make my way to Clementi West Food Centre to have my all time favourite Fishball Noodles at this stall called Soon Heng Fishball Noodle. This stall has been around for more than 20 years and it is one of the best in the west area I can think of. There is always a queue at this stall and the waiting time ranges from 20 to 45 minutes. As usual, I joined the queue to order a bowl of Fishball Noodles with extra noodles and chilli for S$3.50. Something different about the noodles is that you cannot find any other ingredients except a bowl of fishballs and noodles garnished with spring onions, lard and chilli sauce. The doneness of the noodles is just nice, not too soft or too hard and it goes well with their homemade chilli sauce. The fishball is small but bouncy and fresh. The only thing I find could be improved is  the amount of oil in the bowl of noodles. This could be due to the lard. However, the oiliness usually does not affect me  much because I always ask for more noodles. With more noodles, the amount of oil is seemingly reduced.  If you are the kind that will ask for more noodles or if you do not mind it somewhat oily, this is definitely one of the better Fishball Noodles around.
