Guan Kee Fried Kway Teow (源记)

If you ask me for the the best Fried Kway Teow, I would say it is this stall at Ghim Moh Food Centre called Guan Kee Fried Kway Teow. This is one of the best and my all time favourite Fried Kway Teow that you must definitely try. There is always a queue at the stall and the average waiting time estimated is about half an hour. I had craving for it that day and as usual I would join the queue and ordered a plate of Fried Kway Teow for S$3.00. The Kway Teow is delicious and the taste is just right, not too salty or sweet. The lard makes the kway teow fragrant and tasty. The stall owner has mastered the art of controling the fire and amount of sauce that needs to be added. This is the most important culinery skill when it comes to frying kway teow. The Fried Kway Teow has ingredients like cockles, vegetables, bean sprouts, chinese sausages, fish cake, lard and eggs. One thing special about this Fried Kway Teow is that you will not find it 'gelard' as there are lots of vegetables and bean sprouts to give it that crunchy taste. You must try it for yourself to believe, this stall is definitely not to be missed.
