Soon Lee Cooked Food/Fried Cockles Kway Teow

I was at Toa Payoh Lorong 5 Food Centre today for dinner. There are 2 Fried Kway Teow stalls that are next to each other, They are namely Soon Lee Cooked Food and Fried Cockles Kway Teow. I have always wanted to compare the 2 Fried Kway Teow to see which is better. Therefore I ordered one plate of Fried Kway Teow for S$3.00 from each of the stalls. Here's the review for the 2 stalls:

- Soon Lee Cooked Food

The Fried Kway Teow was very fragrant and the sweet sauce that was added into the kway teow was just nice and it is not too sweet. I find that the doneness of the kway teow is not too moist or too dry. You can find ingredients like fish cake, chinese sausages, bean sprouts, cockles and eggs.

- Fried Cockles Kway Teow

Its Fried Kway Teow tastes a little sweet due to the sweet sauce but it was acceptable for me. Although they have added some lard in the kway teow, it wasn't as fragrant as expected. The doneness of the kway teow is moist and has a wet texture. You can also find ingredients like fish cake, chinese sausages, bean sprouts, cockles and eggs.

Overall, I personally prefer Soon Lee Cooked Food as its Kway Teow taste slightly better than Fried Cockles Kway Teow due to the amount of the sweet sauce that was added. The former's doneness of the kway teow is just nice for me, not too moist nor dry. However, if you are the kind that prefer your fried kway teow to be sweeter or more moist, you may want to try Fried Cockles Kway Teow instead.
