Tian Lai Seafood Garden

I was on the way back to Singapore with my family from Batu Pahat. We decided to have dinner in Malaysia before we head back home. My dad suggested to have dinner at this place called Tian Lai Seafood Garden at Gelang Patah. Heard that this place was very popular with many Singaporeans as well as the locals. When we were there, I saw alot of Singapore cars parked at the side of the road. We ordered a Hokkien Mee, Gong Bao Frog Legs, Deep Fried Baby Squid and Stir Fry Sweet Potato Leaves. The Hokkien Mee is delicious but I think if they use the flat noodles instead of the round ones, the texture would have been even better. The Hokkien Mee has ingredients like fish cake, sliced pork and vegetables. The noodles may taste more fregrant if they add some small cubes of lard. For the Gong Bao Frog Legs, the frog legs are fresh and succulent. The Gong Bao sauce is not sweet and has a spicy taste making the frog legs tasty. The Baby Squid is crispy and fried with sweet sauce but I think it would have been even better if they did not add the sweet sauce. The Stir Fry Sweet Potato Leaves is a simple dish but you can taste the natural goodness of the vegetables. The total bill for 3 person cost RM52.30 including drinks. Overall I find that the price is reasonable and cheap. You can check out this place if you are around the area looking for cheap and reasonable seafood.
