Foh San Dim Sum

This Foh San Dim Sum is one of the popular places for Dim Sum in Ipoh. You can see all the tables packed with people and some waiting for seats. I managed to find a table after a short wait of about 10 minutes. I ordered Dim Sim dishes like Lor Mai Kai, Siew Mai, Fried Beancurd Skin with Prawns, Har Kow, Fish Cake, Pork Rib, Chicken Feet, Soon Kueh, Fish porridge, Char Siew Bao, Egg Tart and Double Skin Steamed Milk. For the Lor Mai Kai, the glutinous rice is soft and the chicken is tender. The Siew Mai is nice and juicy with meat and prawn fillings on the inside and the Fried Beancurd Skin with Prawns  is crispy on the outside and the prawn and meat fillings are juicy. For the Har Kow, the prawn is crunchy but I find it kindof artificial due to the sodium powder that they have added to makes the prawn tastes crunchy. The Fish Cake is very fresh and does not have any fishy taste or smell. As for the Pork Rib and Chicken Feet, I find it kindof normal. The Soon Kueh is good, filled with dried shimps and sliced mushrooms sprinkled with sesame seeds and spring onions. The chilli and sweet sauce that was poured over it also goes well with the Soon Kueh. The fish porridge is smooth and tasty, filled with the rich flavour of the fish. The Char Siew Bao was nice and soft and filled with char siew and sweet char siew sauce. The Egg Tart has a strong custard and milky taste which is not for my liking. Lastly, the Double Skin Steamed Milk has a rich and thick milk taste. This is an ideal place to stopover for morning breakfast if you are around the area.
