Weng Yin Seafood Village

If you are looking for cheap and good seafood in Port Dickson, you must go to Weng Yin Seafood Village. Their price is cheap and reasonable but most importantly their food is pretty good. Their waitress can give alot of recommendations if you can't decide what you want to eat. One of the waitresses by the name of Xiao Wei recommended us a couple of dishes and we ordered the Deep Fried Squilla Mantis Prawn, Marmite Chicken Cubes, Claypot Tofu, Belacan Sweet Potato Leaf, Butter Prawns, Teochew Style Steam Grouper and Gong Bao Bamboo Clams. The Deep Fried Squilla Mantis Prawn is nice and crunchy with a little tinge of spiciness, it's a perfect finger food especially with a nice glass of beer. For the Marmite Chicken Cubes, the chicken cubes are tender and has a sweet taste of the marmite. As for the Claypot Toufu, the thick sauce and ingredients such as baby corn, carrots, mushrooms, black fungus and not forgetting toufu is a great dish to go with white rice. The Sweet Potato Leaf is home grown and very fresh and crunchy. It's a perfect combination with the balacan, taste great. The Butter Prawns are fresh and very fragrant. When it comes to the Teochew Steam Fish, their style is quite different from the usual ones. They added chinese wine and some salted vegetables and 1 sour plum unlike the typical Teochew Style Steam Fish, whereby lots of tomatoes, sour plums and salted vegetables are added. The fish is fresh and but it might be better if there were more sour plums and some tomatoes to add more flavour to the dish. The Gong Bao Bamboo Clams are quite fresh and taste a little sweet as well as spicy. The food on a whole is good and definitely value for money. The total cost for the meal including rice and drinks come out to be RM$153.10 for 7 persons. It's money well spend if you are a seafood lover.

Restoran Chandin Sea View Sea Food Village

This Restoran Chandin Sea View Sea Food Village is also another popular seafood destination in Port Dickson. Can you imagine how crowed and busy it was when we were there? The carpark was fully packed with cars and the restaurants had 3 wedding dinner that night. It was simply chaotic, the wedding host and participants singing on the stage was like competing with one another singing at the top of their voice. Imagine 2 wedding dinners with karaoke sessions opposite one another, it was simply blasting our head drums. I heard it's a tradition and culture to make the wedding more lively. Due to the wedding, there were alot of items that were not available that night and therefore we ordered a few simple dishes like the Kampong Herbal Chicken, Scallops with Brocolli, Deep Fried Sotong, Chilli Crab with Deep Fried Mantau. The Kampong Herbal Chicken is pretty normal maybe due to the busy preparation of the wedding dinners. For the Deep Fried Sotong, the batter is kind of tasteless but the sotong is very fresh. I think the batter can add a little bit of spices like pepper and chilli powder to give it more taste. For the Scallops with Brocolli, the scallops are fresh and the brocolli is very crunchy. Lastly, the Chilli Crab is the best, the flesh is succullent and sweet. The Mantau also taste great when dipped into the chilli sauce. The total bill was RM159.35 including drinks. I think maybe due to the 3 wedding dinner, the food prepared that night is only above average. Heard that this restaurant is a popular seafood destination so maybe you can try on some other days when the restaurant is not so crowded.

Lucky Lukut Seafood Restoran

I was in Port Dickson with a group of friends to check out this Lucky Lukut Seafood Restoran. I heard that  the "Curry in a Bun" concept originated  from this place. This dish is popular in Port Dickson and you must try if you happen to be around the vicinity. The curry is tasty and very thick, it's a perfect combination especially when you dip the bread into the curry. Yummy, the taste is fantastic although the bun is a little oily! We also ordered some side dishes like the Oyster Omelette, Sambal Kang Kong and Pork Rib King also known as Pai Ku Wang. For the Oyster Omelette, the egg is very fragrant but its kindof oily. The kang kong tasted good with the nice sambal chilli. As for the Pork Rib King, the pork rib is deep fried and covered with sweet sauce, it is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It is a nice place to dine in with friends or family for lunch or dinner.
