Weng Yin Seafood Village

If you are looking for cheap and good seafood in Port Dickson, you must go to Weng Yin Seafood Village. Their price is cheap and reasonable but most importantly their food is pretty good. Their waitress can give alot of recommendations if you can't decide what you want to eat. One of the waitresses by the name of Xiao Wei recommended us a couple of dishes and we ordered the Deep Fried Squilla Mantis Prawn, Marmite Chicken Cubes, Claypot Tofu, Belacan Sweet Potato Leaf, Butter Prawns, Teochew Style Steam Grouper and Gong Bao Bamboo Clams. The Deep Fried Squilla Mantis Prawn is nice and crunchy with a little tinge of spiciness, it's a perfect finger food especially with a nice glass of beer. For the Marmite Chicken Cubes, the chicken cubes are tender and has a sweet taste of the marmite. As for the Claypot Toufu, the thick sauce and ingredients such as baby corn, carrots, mushrooms, black fungus and not forgetting toufu is a great dish to go with white rice. The Sweet Potato Leaf is home grown and very fresh and crunchy. It's a perfect combination with the balacan, taste great. The Butter Prawns are fresh and very fragrant. When it comes to the Teochew Steam Fish, their style is quite different from the usual ones. They added chinese wine and some salted vegetables and 1 sour plum unlike the typical Teochew Style Steam Fish, whereby lots of tomatoes, sour plums and salted vegetables are added. The fish is fresh and but it might be better if there were more sour plums and some tomatoes to add more flavour to the dish. The Gong Bao Bamboo Clams are quite fresh and taste a little sweet as well as spicy. The food on a whole is good and definitely value for money. The total cost for the meal including rice and drinks come out to be RM$153.10 for 7 persons. It's money well spend if you are a seafood lover.
