Leon Kee Claypot Pork Rib Soup

Apart from selling Claypot Pork Rib Soup, this Leon Kee Claypot Pork Rib Soup also sells Kway Chap. The stall serves one of the best "Kway" I have ever tasted. The Kway is perfectly blended with the right amount of braised soup and garnished with fried spring onions. The Kway has absorbed the flavour from the braised soup, making it very tasty and the beauty of the braised soup is that it's not salty at all. I can simply eat this dish on its own. Usually the Kway Chap comes with many types of ingredients but for this stall, the standard items comes with Eggs, Peanut, Intestines and Tau Pok. The Peanut and Tau Pok is perfectly stewed till it's nice and soft. The Intestine, I must say is very fresh and thoroughly cleaned without any bitter aftertaste. I guess this stall is definitely one of the better ones for their Kway Chap.

Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle

I have craving for a good bowl of Minced Pork Noodles today and as usual I decided to head down to my favourite stall at Crawford Lane called Tai Hwa Pork Noodle. This Minced Pork Noodle stall has won numerous awards and recommendations from various food variety channels including makansutra.  I decided to order Bee Hoon dry today. The amount of chilli and vinegar that was added into the Bee Hoon is just nice, making it not too sour or spicy. Lard and crispy flat fish are also added into the Bee Hoon to make it taste fragrant. This is the best Minced Pork Noodle I have ever tasted and I must say that the ingredients used are very fresh. The pork liver is very soft and fresh but most importantly not overcooked. You can also taste the crispy flat fish being added in the dumplings making it more fragrant. The soup used is the minced pork that is freshly cooked throughout the day making it rich in flavour. Seaweed is also added to soup to add more taste and flavour. Each time I try the noodles, the taste and texture is consistent. This stall has perfected the art of making Minced Pork Noodles and you must try to believe!

Seng Kee Mushroom Minced Pork Noodles

I guess having to go around searching for good food sure makes you feel guilty after gobbling down the high calories into the body. I decided to go for something less sinful today and therefore chose to go for Minced Pork with Fish Maw Kway Teow Soup at Seng Kee Mushroom Minced Pork Noodles. At the shop, you will notice alot of awards displayed on the wall for fine culinary and pictures of food variety channel visiting the place. The Minced Pork with Fish Maw Kway Teow Soup cost about S$8.00 per bowl. Personally I think that the money is well worth it especially if you are craving for a bowl of rich flavoured minced pork soup with fish maw. The soup base is full of flavour with the minced pork and crispy flat fish. They use fresh ingredients such as the minced pork, bean sprouts, pork liver, fish dumpling, seaweed, fish maw and last but not least, the braised mushroom. It's like drinking a bowl of rich flavoured steamboat soup with lots of ingredients in it. The soup is simply delicious to the last sip. Yummy!!!

The Original Katong Spoon Laksa Since 1950

I was walking around Queensway Shopping Centre and as usual I decided to grab something to eat. I happened to pass by this Katong Spoon Laksa and the smell of the Chicken Curry drew my attention. Therefore, I ordered a bowl of Chicken Curry and a bowl of Laksa to share with my wife. The Chicken Curry is indeed very delicious, the curry is thick and well absorbed by the chicken. The chicken is tender and the potato is soft. If you dip the bread into the curry, the taste is simply awesome, the curry just ooze out of the bread. For those curry lovers, you must not give this stall a miss. If you are a big eater, you may want to consider ordering a bigger bowl as the portion is really little.

Guan Guan Seafood

This Tze Char stall located at Tanglin Halt is a rare find. Although the coffeeshop is kindof run down, the food is good and the price is reasonable. I ordered a plate of Hor Fun and that cost S$3.50. The Hor Fun is simply delicious and one of the better ones I have ever tasted. The chef has good culinery skills and was able to control the fire while stir frying the Hor Fun to give it a mildly charred taste. The gravy is nice and smooth especially with the egg. The fresh ingredients together with the spring onions make the dish very tasty and fragrant.
